Had a pair of roadies in matching TFM jerseys, pull out from the footpath in front of me this morning. They were riding rather slowly, so I pulled past them quite easily. They decided that it wouldn't do for a panniered commuter to be in front of them, so they pulled in front of me again on a downhill (I'm gearing limited on downhills), then slowed me down up the next hill.
So I decided to annoy them back.
Riding behind them (but not quite drafting). Ayups flashing. Freewheeling up hills. Whistling to myself.
Juuuust close enough that they knew I was there. I mean, if they want to be in front so badly, I'm happy to let them.
The front roadie was clearly stronger and pushed the pace.
The second roadie popped and lost the wheel, so I made my move. Sitting up, no handed and doing a stretch of course.
Was just about to make the catch when roadie #1 turned off down a side street.
Burnt a few more matches than I normally would on a commute, but it was worth it.
