rode it the entire length (almost) from Spencer street - Exhibition street.
Whilst not finished yet my synopsis:
Spencer - King - no dramas - haven't seen the return of the big green wheelie bin dumped in the lane (cars turning left into king tend to stay out of the bike lane when the lane separation disappears.
King - william - feel safer with no doors opening on me or 2 cars trying to fit into a lane built for 1.5 cars and cutting up the bike lane
William - Queen - yeah fine
Queen - Elizabeth - the part outside the DVA offices at the bottom of the hill: What the hell were they thinking to suddenly get rid of the lane mid-down hill. you go from being on the left of parked cars to being on the right of parked cars
Elizabeth - swanston - you'll always get cars pulling out of the carpark half way up the hill and stopping across the bike lane
there's always the squeeze point coming upto Swanston - simply not enough room for bikes to tackle this without a tad bit of skill given the lane is too skinny.
swanston - russell - will be good when finished - will stop the illegal parkers during peakhour
russell - exhibition - will be good when finished - will smooth out the ruts and stop illegal parkers during peakhour.
yeah I'd use it again if ever I wanted to shorten my commute and get the quickest way home.
No idea if they'll be building the southside of Latrobe when the northside is finished?
