Specialized is recalling about 12,200 bikes sold last year due to fork failures that have resulted in falls, one of them with light injuries for the rider (facial abrasion with stiches - I guess THAT rider will not agree with the definition of "light").
The steerer can crack, therefore causing risk of fall..Product should not be used until all checks have been carried out
Fork could be replaced or the steerer reinforced with additional carbon layers.
Models involved are Tarmac (all SL4 models, including S-Works), Crux and Secteur Disc.
Faults have been reported in the USA, but the recall is worldwide - contact Specialized Australia or the dealer.
