As you may have seen from my other post in "Bike Maintenance" I've come into possession of my old Repco Superlite from 1998.
The plan is to use this bike for getting to and from Tafe this year (about 20-25km round trip) - without the worry so much of if it gets stolen etc.
The bike is clean, no rust, no fraying cables etc. - probably about C6-7 in condition if C10 was the maximum (perfect condition).
I was hoping to do most of the work in getting the bike up and running myself - using the majority of current parts on the bike already, unless it really needed replacing (ie tubes). This was also for budgetary reasons, as going back to study is costing me a packet!!
Unfortunately, I've got so far and without the proper tools, work stand and technical knowledge (to some degree) - I've come to a bit of a stand still!!
So would some kind soul in the Eastern Suburbs (Forest Hill area) be willing to help me out? I can bring the bike over and leave it with you for a few days or we can work on it together - whatever suits.
The main things that need looking at - rear wheel hub could be slightly frozen (??) thus affecting the gear adjustment (??), gearing adjustment, brake adjustment.
