New boy here, just in the process of moving here from the UK (you know - where the TdF winners come from) and am looking to gently work my way into the slow and fat middle aged man's social ride circuit...
I've been told this is an excellent place to start . .
Will there be a ride tomorrow (wed) for me to hang off the back of...?
I will have Bjarne, my media director, see if he can find a translator for you, so you get around the first circuit unscathed. We have one or two who speak your language, but we have not found they are reliable or frequently conscious. Hopefully, someone will take pity on you; that usually happens. Welcome, and all the best. There will be a ride starting at 6:00am from Athol Avenue. God only knows what the pace will be; anything from 26kmph to 29kmph.
There is a smallish bald guy called Bob and a smallish bald guy called Neil who are from the UK, so they may be able to assist with the translation. Failing that, a smallish bald guy called Ross has spent 20 years living with somebody from that part of the world and can understand a few words and some simple phrases in their dialect.
