Hi CD86, welcome to Melbourne.
Serving suggestion for South Yarra to Camberwell Junction
(assuming you are near Chapel St(?))
Go north along Chapel St to River, turn right and go along path to William St bridge and then keep on east sie of bridge, cross both river and the Monash Freeeway (will be under you).
Stay on path to your right and you will now be following the Richmond Boulevard back over the Monash and you will notice a clump of small gums and signage ahead of you. This the the Main Yarra Trail which takes you (your left) east along the Yarra. You will come to a drinking fountain and rowing club and a fork in thr path to your right. This is the start of the Gardiners Creek Trail. By now you will have noticed you are going 'against the tide' as the commuting flow is very heavy inbound.
Take the GCpath along the suspended (under the Monash) along until you get to Glenferrie Red where the path will clover-leaf up and to your right and along the Glenferrie Rd footpath to the northern side of the Monash (H.A. Smith Reserve).
From here it's option time but my best suggestion would be, take the first fork on your left and get onto the Reserve Rd, head up to...
Oh, here's a map!http://goo.gl/maps/nuKCN
Suggest return trip similar but you may find the right turn from Auburn into Scott St can b a challenge in peak hour
Good luck and good riding!
