I had the phone in my camelbak pouch so it should have had a decent gps signal, but it was pretty cloudy this morning so who knows. Anyone know if the ride gets stopped as soon as gps is lost?
I had a similar incident on 31/12/2012
when Strava turned itself off for some reason. I've got an Android phone and had recently downloaded the latest version of Strava. I'd done a stop for some lunch and when I went to get started again I noticed that Strava wasn't running at all on the phone (completely disappeared). I just assumed that I must have done something wrong and that the data would have been lost. So I started a "new ride" from that point. However, when I got home & did the upload to the website I was relieved to find that the first half of the ride had been saved. see here
I also made a boo-boo on the day the world ended (12/12/12
) in that I pressed the pause button and forgot to unpause for some time. You can see the results here
Since the incident on 31/12 I now just start Strava when I start riding and leave the phone in my pocket untouched for the complete duration of the ride and let the Strava software work out when I've stopped for lunch.
