No he didn't articulate the issues. He mentioned freeloading and numerous other issue which I explicitly rebutted. You claiming otherwise without addressing the points is useless and non-debate.

Yes and that will happen regardless. It is the council's and sometimes our justice system to ensure that "silly things" lawsuits are not a burden on freedom. Unfortunately councils take the attitude of 'control everything' which actually opens them up to increased duty of care!

Simply not true. Furthermore legitimising and permit-ising a single seller will INCREASE the council's duty of car. Or are you suggesting that if I use council property for my mugging business the council is liable.

I am just assuming that a portion of Dougs profits are not included in his tax each year. that is just my guess. It is probably not really fair to assume, but I still think it happens.
Cash in hand need not be no tax. But that is beside the point. That is NOT a council issue, that is a FEDERAL issue. The guy isn't freeloading the council by not paying tax!
TheEngineer wrote:Government regulation is annoying and creates red tape, but it also means that stuff works. Maybe you should go to a third world country where they dream of a Nanny state. Try and get any kind of government services there and you will struggle.
Restrictions on basic freedoms is not the causual difference between a third world country and Australia. Australia used to be much more free, but we've become a coddled rule obsessed nanny state.

Lol! Sorry, yes you are right. It is the slippery slope/domino theory;FIRST its bicycle repainmen not applying for a permit, THEN its a coffee seller not applying for a permit and SOON ENOUGH you'll have Joseph Kony not applying for a permit to enslave 50,000 into his guerilla army going around raping and pillaging.
