The real dangers
DORIS LeRoy (Letters, 21-22/12), cars have caused more than 250 deaths in Victoria this year, and more than 300 in NSW. Just one person has ever been killed by a cyclist in the whole of Australia. Cyclists are not a danger to children, dogs and pedestrians. Motorists are the real danger.

Have to correct John, it's two cyclists that have killed someone, in Victoria in my memory (may well be more). One was James Gould on Beach Road, another was an incident on a boat ramp at Echuca.
Still the idea is correct - cyclists causing road deaths is so very rare we remember the individual incidents and even the names
