The company that owned Goldcross before they were bought by Supercheap (GX Imports) were the AUS distributors of Fuji (and SE bikes), so they could do what they liked with the pricing. The situation might still be the same. It looks like GX Imports is now Oceania Bicycles but I don't know if they are owned by or related to Supercheap.
I tracked down their ABNs and it looks like they are all part of super retail group
. They own 8 brands in all: Amart Sports, BCF Boating Camping Fishing, Goldcross Cycles, FCO Fishing Camping Outdoors, Ray’s Outdoors, Rebel and Supercheap Auto.
