as the title suggest, two thumbs up to BikeRides for servicing my bike.
I sent a text message to him on Sunday night, dropped my bike in on a Monday morning, and picked it up on a Tuesday morning. the thing that attracted me to this service was that it was located within a 2 minute ride from my place, and his rates were very reasonable.
he was also honest in what needed to be done, and was helpful in telling me what I can replace now (front brake pads), and what can be done later on (rear brake pads since there's a lot of life left in them, gear cables don't need replacing any time soon even though the teflon seems to be unravelling slightly, etc). he was also honest about not being able to true my wheel that much, owing to the need of a proprietor based spoke wrench which he is not in possession of.
I like how because it's a home based business, that you are not restricted to the usual operating hours that LBS tend to have.
can't recommend him highly enough. would definitely go back to him again should the need arise. that, and it's re-defining what local means for me!
