Both good puncture resistance, the GP4000s square off a bit quicker. I would use either without hesitation. You can often find the Vredestein tyres on special.
+1. Use both on different wheels. I love the Vredestein. Even though they have a lower thread count than the Contis they roll more like a tubular. Also I use them at a much higher pressure than the Contis and they are still comfortable. The Contis are 25 mm but the Vredestein are 23.
I have also spent several ks trying to wear out a pair of Vittoria Diamante Prolight 25mm slicks. Cannot fault them and they have not punctured yet. I got them very cheap because they were 25mm and the forum member was afraid they would puncture too easily. Noticed a nick on the front one last week and am expecting it to give up soon but I was confident enough in them to ride the Gran Fondo on them.
