It was another great weekend.
Couple of funny notes to the weekend - about two-thirds of the way to Skene's Creek on Sunday, when a rather "chubby" young woman wearing a red top hacked out a huge gob of phlegm just as I was passing her on the right hand side.
At some point on one of the faster descending sections, I was following another rider at about 65km/h. He was maybe 10-15 metres in front of me. We came upon two mates wearing the same kit, who were riding about 1.5 metres apart and looked to be chatting etc. The goose I was following cut straight through the middle of them.
I couldn't believe what I'd just seen. Big event rides like this have a reputation for attracting their share of dickheads, well this guy can hold his head up high. The stupidest & potentially most dangerous act I witnessed all weekend.
Waiting for a coffee in one of the local cafe's on Monday morning, I was amazed to hear a bloke bitching to the wait staff about the fact they'd run out of mushrooms. This was apparently an unforgiveable act of bastardry, that any half-decent cafe should have anticipated months in advance. This at 0730 on a Monday, after probably their biggest weekend of trading in 6 months or more. Mate if you're on here, or either of the 6 mates you had with you, you are a @#$%^ prize jerk.
You single-handedly ruined that young waitresses' day, and probably undid every piece of goodwill extended by every other cyclist visiting Lorne that weekend. So thanks for that. Maybe stay at home and have your own mushrooms next year.
Well done to all riders.
