Which leads me back to my original dig at quality of journalism.
An earlier had quoted VicRoads as having spoken to and even quoted myself and yet it was the first i had heard of it. Similar was done to Hobsons Bay CEO re same issue over which he quite rightly 'lost it'.
The above so called endorsement of other works was in the same vain. Nobody asked us re that project. It was on a list i was shown 2 years ago and we queried what was involved because I couldn't see the value.
I called Patricia immediately after hearing of this and we have now come to an understanding that anything they say to the media regarding bike facilities in the Metro NW region will be at minimum sent to myself also.
That Bridge is quite literally the number two priority (NorthBank is No 1) across Metro Melbourne, (It's a long list!) hence the recent article in the Age with Shepherds Bridge article about the Bike Budget being slashed. I chose the Shepherd Bridge to best illustrate what the Budget could be delivered as it is the best example of what is ready to be built (Northbank needs more prelim work), represents the biggest barrier to get new riders (More People Cycling More Often) and is self explantory for a media context for the average citizen.

I stand guilty of not always communicating what we are doing (a lot of it we are asked to keep confidential for the short term, not an easy pill to swallow but it's sometimes necessary to keep my seat at the table for the greater good of my role) and I would love to send out more messages; resources can be a challenge. An open invitation if anyone is willing to spare some time to come in and help me write up and update more campaigning web pages . I'll try harder in future
