After Amys Ride, After AAC, but before HHCCC. Some weekend in Feb - probably a Sunday.
I'm interested in doing a long ride with a moderately steep climb.
The current thought, is a ride out to Marysville (about 40km from inner North/East suburbs of Melbourne) and then up Lake Mountain
. This is going to be a fair ol' day in the saddle and would possibly be a good thing for those doing HHCCC to achieve.
This climb would take me about 1 hour and 15 minutes, the downhill in fair weather would take about 20 - 30 minutes. The climb is 4.4% average, however over the 20.3km distance and 920metres vertical gain there are downhill sections.
I'd only want to run this with a forecast of fair weather (rain/cold would be too dangerous). Getting to Marysville will also be a fair effort as it will take in the Black Spur.
Probably close to a 130km-160km day. I'll map out a bikely
route in the near future to get to Marysville, and then use the c2m route for the climb.
