I rode my fourth MAD ride today - it was awesome!
I did the 120km course. It was challenging but rewarding.
The ride was very well supported; well signed and the volunteers were fantastic.
The ride offered some tough climbs that made up for the hard work with magnificent rolling descents.
I might be back next year!

ok hope he recovers, some of the descents on mtb course required advanced skills - which would be outside the range of some rider's skills ... then again, 60ks off road is a long way so you would have to expect a diverse range of terrain. they probably need a 'hike a bike' type sign although as you are hammering down the descents it's usually too late to bail out due to ruts on either side. I think it's a great course by the way.Pete wrote:mtb101 wrote:perfect conditions for 60k mountain bike, great day - well done to organisers. Somebody did an OTB in the bush. Apparently an older guy with road riding background, on a borrowed MTB. He had to be stretchered out for a couple of kms.
Broken a few ribs and collarbone, so not enormously serious..... just a lot of pain to come
