Alpine weather forecasts at this range are a chocolate teapot.
I rode the three peaks route with friends a week ago. The forecast the day before was for light, scattered showers. What we actually got was continuous rain from Tawonga to Hotham, and for much of Hotham a dense fog with 5m visibility.
At the other extreme - the weather forecast for the Alpine Classic was 32-35 degrees, 10-20mm of rain. What we actually got was 35-42 degrees, no rain.
The only thing you can rely on is the weather being unpredictable. Just throw everything you have in a bag
