My best answer would have to be "dunno!", but it would be a sad state of affairs if they can't get the fires out or at least well contained before the ride.
As an educated(?) guess, I'd assume BV would be more likely to change the route if there was any threat. Riders may otherwise have to view the charred remains instead of the green, if not dry bush we rode through on the GVBR.
I would have loved to have been going on the GTBR, but unfortunately I didn't win the BV competition and have fallen upon hard times. Even if I'd had the whatfor, I've left it too late for the WARBY role and far too late for the LiveEasy tent.
For those who are going, I'm sure you'll have a ball and make many new friends. Looking forward to seeing all of your photos when you get back.
