I may have trimmed down a tad with all the ACE250 training but I'm certainly not as lean as Sean!
I was up front with Sean from the 'berg to Greensborough before we decided to give someone else a go up front. The tempo pace was spot on as it meant we were all together rolling into the Diamond Creek regroup. Unfortunately most of the group headed into the servo not realizing we were all together so I found myself again at the front and then second wheel into Hurstbridge.
Once again the pace was conducive to the group staying together and we rolled through, at which point I decided to kick off the TT and it was on for young and old! For 5km or so myself, Matty and Sean rolled turns (a rarity on this ride) with Andrew also contributing though he tended to pull through too hard and consequently forced the now second placed rider (yours truly
) to go further into the red to grab his wheel.
Speaking of which, did I spot Enve decals on those tubs?
Just prior to the business time end of the TT I was done and let the bunch roll through. A week of Apollo Bay headwinds and hills had left them pretty fatigued. Still managed to knock off 30 secs from my PB for my efforts so happy to have worked for that one!
