Rick (and Brian) are just doing a few strips to tie up loose ends - some of these are being published online. They are really to give some closure to some of the story arcs for their soon-to-be-released vols 2-4. There's quite a few which will only be in the books.
My reading into it - It seems that Rick has been quite overwhelmed by the response. The fact that it took up so much time for very low financial gain weighed heavily on him, and his family. Now that he's got this up and running, who knows. Like I've said elsewhere, I'm frequently accused of being an optimist.

Done . Great idea, by the way. Many people will be more than happy to pay the $1/month for the extra features, and this will no doubt create a continuing fund for Rick Smith to continue writing the comics.
Readers who ordered the Kickstarter books will begin seeing their books mailed on February 6, 2012. We're receiving the books on the 2nd, and will begin packing and mailing over that weekend!
US and international readers should receive the books within a week to ten days.
SPECIAL NOTE: A few book packages went out WITHOUT an embroidered badge and bookmark. We believe we caught all of the addresses where this occurred and have mailed out an extra envelope to these readers that contains the badge and bookmark. If your package does not include the freebies, wait a few days to see if an extra envelope arrives that contains them.
