GREAT night at the Tote.
Bowers were the first band, played really well Phil Gionfriddo is such a good guitar player.
Spencer P Jones was next, I've been watching Spencer play in various guises for many many years and I swear he is at the best I have ever seen him play. He may be looking more and more like a cross between Willie Nelson and Keith Richards, but has some of the skills of those greats. Great set by him and the Escape Committee.
Then You and I hot the stage. Tim Rogers resplendent in a school dress, that had the girl in front of me swooning
(what do we call this front person curious?)
Good to see them in a smaller venue as they are just a great rock band, played most of their hits and changed a few around, the version of Heavy Heart was fantastic. By the end of the evening Tim Rogers was in full flight, jumping in and out of the audience and looking a bit bloodied and bruised by the end of it. The band seemed to revel on playing a smaller venue and commented a few times how good it was. AWESOME night.
Helgirl, mates and I were talking about the amount of bands coming out, it is crazy. Maybe the strong aussie dollar and downturn in the economies of various OS countries is making the trip to Australia a bit more attractive to bands. One problem is that many shows are not selling well, maybe too much on?
