Another fantastic Gravel Grind done and very literally dusted.
The day started with Weg knocking on my door at 7:30 we then went and picked up Cleatus before getting on down to WillyTown for the start.
There were a few people milling about when we got there and the more just kept rolling up, some very nice bike porn to look at while waiting for the start.
One guy rolled up on DuraAce rims with tubular tyres, not sure if he entered or finished.
The route took us out along Koroit creek road and up past Altona Gate before jumping on the Fed trail. We then headed out along Boundary road, this had us a bit concerned that there may be lots of trucks about but it was very quiet. In fact all the trucks we did see gave us heaps of room, all the cars on the day were great so nice to see. At the end on Boundary road we hit the dirt and kept winding along dirt roads till we got to Rockbank, a quick snack and a drink and we pushed off up to Toolern Vale. After a nice lunch sitting in the local park and soaking up the sun we did the reverse back home, and wow what a trip it was. A howling tailwind had us flying along with very little effort, we were all grinning like idiots, it was sooooo much fun.
Angry and Blakey found some really great roads for this, top stuff guys. Can't thank you guys enough for organising these events they are great fun and everyone on them is so friendly. Thanks again I really appreciate your efforts.
Also thanks to Weg and Cleatus for company it was fun as always.
