Did the KAOS ride with Ness and Leigh. Wet wet wet! Hadn't ridden in the rain for some time. Well hadn't ridden for over a week so even though there was some drizzle when i started I was hanging out to ride.
Got to the shop just on 7 am having seen no one at Athol Avenue where some of us meet. No WAK or Mrs WAK.
Still I was running late so I thought they may have gone already. Got to the shop just on time. By then it was raining and i was partially soaked. Ness rolled up shortly thereafter. He Leigh and I decided to chance it with the other regulars not being tempted.
Ness had some Sports Extra cereal for brekky he said. Clearly there was something 'extra' in it as once we hit Beach Road he set a cracking pace. Lots of spray sucking his wheel but he was moving a little too quick for me. Found a good rhythm and we latched onto a reasonably fast time trial rider for a while.
No sprint into Mordi today though. Ness was prepped for it and took it easily anyway. I didn't have the legs today. Didn't stop for long though as it was wet and we were soon getting cold.
Quick pace on the way back as well. Older guy in a Bib Stillwell kit on a Fuji set a cracking WAK like tempo for a long time.
Saw Allez Allez and some other BVers who were doing the BBC ride.
Back to the Whyte Cafe for some brekky and warmth with a few of the KAOS regulars turning up for brekky as well. Time for some coffee and fruit toast before the cold set in so Ness and I headed for home.
Shower when i got home was divine feet now fully thawed
Of course sun has now peeped out from the clouds. Time to clean the bike properly after I gave it a quick hose down to get all the sand and crap off it. Love the white bike but dam it gets dirty so easy! Thanks for the ride Ness and Leigh.
