Today I did my latest training ride: Full Monty, to Warby, the Donna, back to the Full Monty.
Total climb: 3000m; Total distance: 135km; ride time 7hrs approx, I forget the actual time.
Weather was perfect. In my ignorant opinion this seems like an excellent training ride; it combines distance, time and climbing, and the climbs simulate the actual ones quite well. I'll be doing it again 2 December (sorry Saturdays only). Anyone feel like joining, please chime in.
John & I met on Mt Dandy 7am after riding there from our respective homes and rode together from there. I figure this worked well, will probably do the same.
What's inlvolved in a "Donna"? Is sit on Par with a "Full Monty"? Is it as hard as a "1:20"?Sette Budini wrote:This sat will be double Donna's for us, Cheers

jur wrote:The outbound leg is OK, early in the morning, less traffic. But the homebound leg is crap. This coming from 2 years of commuting experience. There are some spots where there is a decent shoulder or 2 lanes, but there are more spots where you feel cramped. I have considered, maybe we should b riding on the Warby trail on the homebound leg. Gravel, but it is fine and hard packed.
