Hadn't done this ride in ages till last night, I'd forgotten how much fun it can be! Left with the 7pm group and found it relatively easy to stay with the front bunch. The race up Burgundy St is always fun, nearly had the legs for KoM...but not quite, next week maybe...on my new bike I remember when I first did this ride 2 years ago with compact cranks and I was almost ready to get off and walk up there! I somehow rolled through to the front heading up the cutting, started to set a decent tempo and noticed that I'd opened a decent gap. Turned it down a notch to keep a bit left and latch onto some wheels as they came past. A late attack by a garmin-cervelo rider up the Ivanhoe hill had it down to the 2 of us, he didn't really contest the red rooster sprint but I'm claiming it anyway
Nice turn around from the Hounds run. Forza!
