I'd just be happy if they got around to sending me my brevet card for the AAC200, but given that they haven't sent me the one for the early October Noojee Loop, I'm not holding my breath over it. I know their rides tend to be well organised (at least from my limited experience of 2 rides), but I'm a bit unimpressed right now with their paperwork skills. Or perhaps it's just the French headquarters of Audax that need to get more organised?
I know Audax is run by volunteers, so I'm not trying to be critical of that. I appreciate the effort they put in. But why does it take so long for them to return the brevet cards?
I just got my card for an early September ride, so your October ride is probably not far away.
It takes so long because everyone involved is a volunteer doing in their spare time (here and also (I expect) in France), and probably stickers etc are only posted monthly or less in order to keep postage costs manageable.
I was a bit confused by the brevet card situation at the Alpine this year though to be honest. There was a box for them at the end, but most people seemed to be confused as to whether it was necessary to put your card in the box or not given that electronic timing was in use. I put mine in the box.
