Mavic or Shimano spacer?

Yeah you prob did but its gets a bit confusing when swapping SRAM and Shimano cassettes to Mavic and Shimano hubs (DA). Argh.. why can't they all just choose one standard!
OK, here is what I found-
The 11-23 cassette is a 105 cassette (as I knew).
The 12-25 cassette is an Ultegra cassette (as I knew).
The 12-27 is a 105 cassette (I thought it was Ultegra).
The 105 cassettes need the thick Mavic spacer AND the thin Shimano spacer. But the Ultegra cassette only needs the Mavic spacer (and not the thin Shimano one). This is the bit that really confused me. I can't find anything about this online but it seems to be the case for me. So that's another variation I need to remember.. LOL
The Duckmeister wrote:Well that's weird - the Ultegra cassette should need both spacers too. Mine did when I was using a Ksyrium Elite rear wheel. The fact that I run 11-23 shouldn't make a difference.

blybo wrote:I need a spacer too . I'm fixing up Mrs B's old flat bar CX bike and I obviously originally fitted the 11-23 cassette without the spacer. LBS should have plenty lying around, just we both came down with gastro overnight so just watching Ms B is taking every bit of energy we have . Thankfully Ms B seems fine.

If you could that would be great (and bring to the next SSS). If you come up with a M10 spacer and a shimano one, i'll pay for your SSS Entry.
