Slow group seems right up my alley. I did the Great Vic last year and it would have been great to be part of a training group. I'm trying to get some training in now for the 100km ATB so would be interested in some group rides on a Sunday. Only issue will be location but once you work out where you want to ride from and to I'll see if it can work for me.squeazasis wrote:I have a neighbor who will be doing the Great Vic Bike Ride who is looking for people to train with at the weekend. (She will also ride to and from work - Surrey Hills to Ashwood - a few days per week.) So we are looking for expressions of interest in slow rides in the Inner Eastern suburbs on Sundays (or possibly Saturday evenings when it gets lighter). One possibility could be to form a group to ride to and from Jells park for the existing Sunday breakfast, meeting point to be negotiated.
I thought at this stage it would be good to get a group together which could have a wide range of abilities, from 13kph on the flat, to say 25 kph, and if we get a few expressions of interest, we could work out how to manage the differences in pace, e.g. regroups, or different starting times or locations.
Feel free to either post in this thread to discuss any details, or PM me.
Hmm guess I got Inner East wrong. I'm not very close at all. Shame - I would love to find a slow group to ride with. Have fun.squeazasis wrote:We're in Surrey Hills, and have had one response from Nth Balwyn. Where are you? If we do Jells Park breakfast, we might ride from Ringwood along the Eastlink Trail.
