Haven't reported back yet, as I've been otherwise engaged.
It's all pretty much as mshoppee says, although I was a bit embarrassed by grabbing the wrong handful of gears at the bottom of White Hill Rd and then not being strong enough to catch up, once I got myself sorted.
I picked up the new bike (OCR Comp) on Saturday and have yet to master shifting with Flightdeck. Just a matter of more practice.
Also the new bike computer was proving to be a hassle as well - so again, just need to get the bugs out of the setup.
We didn't ascend or descend Arthurs Seat to the lookout, took Arthurs Seat Rd to Main Ridge Rd, then up the rise at the end of Purves Rd and a good descent at Browns Rd - Arthurs Seat can be a little challenge for another day
I won't presume to speak for mshoppee, but I had a good time and would happily do it all again.
As for Lisanne's suggestion - that is a good one, anyone who rides down here knows there are climbs to be had, you can start with easy ones or go as hard as you want. I'll be doing an early morning ride (ie 4:30-5 am start) next Sunday, as I have family commitments during the afternoon (Pet & Pony Expo with the kids), which means I'll miss the Audax ride for that day (bugger). Anyone who wants to climb a hill or two in the cool of the morning, PM me. Otherwise we'll organise a more sociable time in coming weeks...
