I’m not that geographically qualified to give a good account of exactly where we went, as I have no idea around that area, but here goes….
Only Sette and myself turned up. After waiting for while, we headed off at about 3:05pm and ended up riding for a bit over 2 hours. It was nice to do something different. I much preferred where we rode today as the only other time I’ve ridden in Studley Park I ended up in much the same area as Snuffy described with technical rocky sections and a 10m sheer cliff immediately beside the track. Sette said the area we rode was further out from the Boatshed and I think at some point we ended up in Heidelberg?? Today would have been a perfect day for those novices wishing to have a try without too much fear factor. So anyone interested on the next one, make sure you come along.
We rode lots of single track and quite a bit of that funky off fall line stuff beside the Eastern freeway. There were some really nice whoops, fast sections, treed areas and slower technical sections. One really fun climb of about 30m with a pitch around 25 degrees when we reversed the track and came back up to the Eastern freeway. Didn’t see any snakes, only saw a guy rescuing a turtle back into the Yarra. Thanks again Sette it was fun.
