Greetings all - first post,
After an arduous 14 hours I completed the 230km 'trek' that was the 3 Peaks Challange. I was wrapt that I finished given the conditions and dropout rare and took my finishers jersey as the 'reward' for my full day of toil and effort.
Sizing: I notice that the neck/collar on the jersey is very loose. Has anyone else had this problem, or do i have a dud jersey that needs exchanged?
Who deserves it:
- I too have heard of many who 'retired' but jumped out of cars a couple of km's out to ride over the line to receive their Jersey (witnessed by many) - shame on those and all I can say is 'Puncture Karma' may visit you in the future.
- BV just sent out an e-mail stating that all those who started the ride may receive the jersey. Whilst I understand that BV may not want a huge stock of unclaimed jerseys - I feel that it 'cheapens' the effort made by those that slogged it out and crossed the line legitimately to claim their Jersey. It diferentiates those that made the effort and is a nice 'gift' to those that finished the race as a symbol/token of their efforts on the day. Although the ride should be one of personal gain etc., I just think that giving the Jersey to everyone was the wrong decision giiven that it was stipulated from the outset that it was in fact a 'Finishers' Jersey - NOT a 'participation' Jersey.
