Maybe if BV really want to step in & copy Audax they should look at the what is done & has happened on their rides. I never hear about any speed limits when I did it this year.
Rider came off down Falls Creek this year in the Alpine Classic shortly before I descended.... My friends who were ahead of me stopped and needed to call 000 for an ambulance.
Also heard that there was an off down Tawonga Gap which required the rider to be airlifted back to hospital.
Almost came to grief myself, with a sudden flat descending Tawonga Gap, but fortunately was able to control the bike to a stop. That was just bad luck to having a flat and it certainly gave me a scare for a moment or two as I was rolling on the sidewalls of the tyre at speed.... Phew!
5hit! I hope both riders are OK. Being airlifted does not always mean a visible injury... never good though. I was airlifted from Harrietville and only broke a bone in my sinus!
