Ok...in order of the replies:
Penny, Sunbury is on the Met system, even though our trains aren't electrofied (is that even a word?), so I'd guess the normal Met policy applies. It might pay to ask them, I have no idea.
Snuffy, the ride could be as long or as short as we want to make it. Sunbury, Gisborne, Woodend, (Bakery stop), ascend Macedon & back to Sunbury is around 80kms....the last 40 are pretty much down hill. Macedon isn't hard (unless you're racing it)...7.7kms at 5% ave, so its a decent climb but I see audax riders of varying fitness levels out there every weekend. If you takeyour time its quite do-able & a very pleasant ride....but whatever the group wants to do is fine with me
Dale, I wouldn't be thinking of a 'smash fest'....just a group out for a leisurely ride....the pace could be at whatever the slowest in the group could manage, I'd envisage the quicker ones would wait ....it's supposed to be fun
Paulf....not scary, just a beautiful place for a ride.....
