squeaza wrote:I got sore hands when I first got my road bike and i think it was just from holding on tighter than I needed too, plus my muscles just weren't used to the hand position for hours at a time. It dissipated pretty quickly when I learnt to relax more.
however, when I was more comfortable on the bike I had the stem flipped down (it had been flipped up when I got the bike) and once again I had achey muscles until I got used to it.
this pain was very distinct from the tingling/squashing that happens when I'm lazy and put too much weight on my hands or leave them in a bad position for a bit. Concentrating on my stomach muscles definitely helped with this.
