I might have found an easy way around getting them adjusted, on the way back from my swim this afternoon - I found a letter from the bike shop, where I brought it with the free 6 week service voucher.
How can you know that they do things well and right? Is it that they see you are a woman and don't think that you'd have a clue?
Not that I'm not expecting them not to service the new bike well but years ago when I put the 3 speed Sturmey Archer Raleigh in for a service - when I got it back, they obviously didn't have much of an idea how to service the hub and I had to do the adjustments to get it back in working order. Another clutz once told me I shouldn't ever oil the hub - I didn't bother asking him why there was an oil hole - I double checked with Sheldon Brown back then that my knowledge was superior regarding it and from then on have never let a bicycle mechanic touch it.
