I purchased a Giant Elwood SE, a 21 speed hybrid a month ago, upgrading from a 27 yr old Raleigh Sturmey Archer 3 speed. It is as I was told like a jet plane in comparison and I love it but I'm having a few problems comfort wise.
They told me that the seat is unisex - it is well padded and has a split in the back but it feels like it is making me lean forwards and it can feel uncomfortable after a while. My hands are also going numb - usually after about an hour.
After I brought it, they 'adjusted' it to be for comfort riding.
It's a 21" men's frame, I'm 178cm/5 10" with a really thickset body.
I'm wondering if it is the saddle that is causing the problems - would adjusting/tilting it back slightly fix both problems - the discomfort and the numb hands? I've never had any such problems with my old bike - which I got brand new, when I was 13 (it was time for an upgrade!).
Thanks in advance, it's much appreciated.
