Agreed on this advantage.
We used a Winchester trailer for 5 years back when these trailers were pretty rare. Riding down Dorset Rd (two lanes each way, no median) with the trailer we were always given a full lane, in contrast to the single bike. The bright yellow trailer showed up as obviously very wide, so drivers just knew that to get past they must change lanes, rather than try to squeeze by.
The safety and comfort of the trailer put it streets ahead of a child seat. Then there's the ability to carry two, and a shopping load.
