Having read the blog - and from much personal experience, most journos are wankers - writing sexed up attention grabbing drivel.
News papers don't print the news, they print what it takes to sell news papers.
I mean how many times can you write, "SLAMMED, OUTRAGE, BIZZAR etc." before the words lose their impact, worth and meaning.
And how many pedestrians step off the kerb without even so much as looking left or right?
As a friend of mine once said, about driving fast in a Mercedes through the alps in winter time...
"I don't give a **** whether the car has ABS and all the best things on it, if your going too fast for the corner, your just not going to make it round the corner".
So as far as people not bothering to look at the traffic before they step off a curb, or being stupid enough to assume that just cause they have now just gotten the green light, and the other people have gotten the red light - that the people with the red light have seen, or are responding or have responded to the red light, or are going to, or can indeed stop at the red light.
Assuming and taking for granted, is something almost all pedestrians do.
The guy who stepped off the kerb, APPARENTLY with the assumption that he had right of way simply because he had the green light, and that because he had right of way, that it was safe to do so, is as much of an idiot, as the people or individuals, who approached an intersection and failed to pay attention, slow and stop, when required to do so.
Having been witness to a car who's brakes failed coming up to a red light at speed...
Whether one lawfully has the right of way, doesn't really matter, if the people who don't have right of way are still coming at you...
It doesn't matter, why? Irrespective of ones right of way - your the one who is going to get run over.
