Just to keep the ball rolling ... are there any more first-timers signing-up for the GVBR this year?
If so, give us some feedback on what roles you've chosen and why. There are a few regular vollies on the forum, and I'm sure it helps to get to know others in advance of the event.
We may also be able to answer some of those inevitable questions which pop-up.
The vollies make a huge difference to an event like the GVBR. I'd even go as far as saying it's the difference between a good event and a fantastic event. For the cyclists, knowing there's someone there to help & guide them every step of the way is a great relief. I've heard several people say, we wouldn't have done it if not for the vollies.
For the vollies themselves the rewards are immeasurable. It's not merely the buzz of being a part of the team, or the camaraderie and mates you'll make on the journey, or the fun and laughter, but also the warm & fuzzy contentment you'll have at the end of each day knowing you've made such a difference by helping so many people. And a whole lot more!
Life is too short to bother with idiots
