I've been working hard in the last month on training up for the 50km event. I started out at "0": I had a bike and often rode a few kilometers on it but no significant distances.
I started by doing 10km a day and then added a few times a week doing rides that pushed me further: 30km some days, steep hills other days, and combinations of that.
Now I've got the flu and am doing much less riding and hoping I don't go too far backwards..
Any idea what level of training is really needed for the 50? Most of the advice around seems to be for semi-experienced riders doing 100 or the full distance
