I'm interested in doing the 42 km ride with a couple of kids, so I've got a couple of questions.
I noticed in the "Great Rides" information, that the route opens at 8 a.m.
Obviously, it would be reasonably crowded on the roads for a while after that, and we'd probably have trouble on the crowded roads ... so what is the latest time that people can leave Docklands for the 42 km ride?
Also, we'd be catching the train there, and the first Sunday train on the Sandringham line gets in to Southern Cross station at 8:05 a.m. - so that is also a limiting factor.
Also - is there a time that the route closes? If so, what time is this - and is there a time the West Gate Bridge closes to cyclists? Obviously a highlight of the ride for the kids is to cycle over the West Gate Bridge (or walk up it, if it is too steep for them).
