Hi fellow riders,
I was going to post this message after the Great Bike Ride but changed my mind thinking there could be Perth riders out there who wouldn't mind a change of scenery on their last training rides. I live 8kms West of York, the area is quite hilly and there are plenty of local roads (some sealed and some well graded gravel roads) with little or no traffic. Lots of wildlife and heaps of ruminants. In the past I've gone around on my Green bike but lately I have been using my Very Special bike equipped with 26x1.5 tyres; so a mountain bike is not essential (a spare tube and repair kit is a must).
What I had in mind is the following: This Sunday March 12 we meet at the York Olive Oil Co (8km before York, well signposted, can't miss it) at 7.30am, leave the cars in the carpark and after deciding on the lenght of the ride we take off. I can tailor you round trips from 20km to 100km.
I am 56 and French, but my name is not Anquetil so don't expect a race. I usually start at 6.00am (lots of birds around at this time...) but we have to factor in the travel time from Perth (at least 1.5 hour, watch out for Multanovas). Anyone interested , email me.
