I joined some of the group this morning for their regular Kings Park Ride.
We were joined by "Two Wheels" from the forum. What a delightful man. Unlike the rest of us he is your classic lycra, bum up, head down, cycling fanatic, and could have left us for dead at a whim, but instead he joined in, chatted with us, gave advice, told us about previous Bic Vic rides, a real gentleman.
The rides meets on the corner of Mounts Bay Rd and Hackett Drive, car park by the boat club, opposite the most wonderful Flame tree! 6.30am, start for about two hours.
Apparently they normally do between 30-40 kms in various loops within the Park, today was bit less. Lovely quiet roads, of course in a beautiful situation, and despite the really strong breeze this morning we felt quite protected for most of the ride. Able to ride two abreast for most of the time, meeting more cyclists than cars.
Most riders in this group are active on the BicVic chat forum, so they had all the news!
Thanks guys, see you next Sunday.
