After an abortive trip to the train station I got on my bike and headed down Beach Road for the city.
Safest ride down Beach Road EVER! Essentially the inside lane was blocked to motorised traffic due to trees and other debris. The cars were stationary, nose to tail all the way from Sandringham to St Kilda. The whole journey I didn't see one car move until St Kilda..
The only dodgy bit was Clarendon Street by Crown; the road was flooded to the extend that my cranks were submerged and I picked up all sorts of nasty things in the drive train. All this on a road bike too
