I have no issue with the safety aspect of using paths / footpaths as an alternative to roads, but in this case we were walking on a designated shared walking / bike track when this wonderful person sped past. He showed very little respect for fellow users of the path, and by his actions little respect for himself!
I can undertsand that at times bike riders become frustrated with walkers/joggers, especially those with I-pods etc blaring through headphones as they walk or jog. They certainly bug me, especially when I do the right thing and sound a bell or give a vocal warning with no response.
Frustration is fine, but blatant ignorance and rudeness are not!
