i agree with renegade, check out the BV bike buyers guide. there are lots of choices available out there making the decision difficult. the info in the guide can help you decifer what you want and give you an idea of what you get for your money. it is also a good starting point to learn about frame materials and levels of gearing. Giant make a OCR comfort bike, i think they can range from $1000-$3000, depending on gears and frame materials of course. But the bike has a longer wheel base and more relaxed fork rake that make for a suposedly more comfortable position in a roadie. the head stem can also be flipped to give a more upright and relaxed posy. they can also come with a triple chain ring making hills soooo easy. superseeded models are always a bargain offering a bike in the next level up within your price range. get every thing you may need helmet etc. with the purchase so you can make it a part of the "deal". good luck. what ever you end up on your gunna luv it.
