Received this last week from Dandenong Council
"Council has been liaising with Armstrong regarding the status of the works on the EastLink trail.
Armstrong have advised that they have spent the past week working on the path (at underpass and south to Perry Rd) to temporarily ‘make safe’ for reopening, which occurred last Saturday.
The path was graded and rolled (potholes patched) and concrete sections swept prior to opening.
Council Officers have inspected the site and confirmed that it is open and believe that the surface is satisfactory for this temporary arrangement.
Testing of the pipeline will be completed in approximately 1 week’s time, after which Armstrong will organise the permanent reinstatement of the concrete path.
The path will again be temporarily closed for a period of 7 to 10 days, during the construction and curing period. The detour that has previously been established during the initial works will again be utilised. It is understood that this detour is not ideal, but has been assessed as the most suitable alternative in the area.
Should you wish to discuss any of the above in greater detail, please do not hesitate to contact Daniel Przychodzki, Team Leader – Transport, on 8571 5318."
