A cyclist has died in hospital after being hit by a ute in Tasmania's south this morning.
Police say the cyclist, aged 57, was riding along the Channel Highway at Huonville with a friend when he was hit from behind.
The 49-year-old driver of the ute was not hurt.
He is helping police with the investigation.
Senior Constable Kelly Cordwell says it is not clear if the cyclist's clothing was a factor in the crash.
