The modern "red spot" patches are really easy to use on the side of the road. I've used a bunch and not had one fail. There's no messing around with glue. You peel, rub it on, re-seat and inflate.
My saddle bag has a few patches, a few tire levers, one spare tube, and a multi-tool. My pump clips on the frame. I haven't needed any of it for myself since switching tires 2 years ago. I could stuff a 2nd tube in my Jersey, but I don't think I'll need it.
please tell me more about those "red spot" patches, I was not aware of no-glue patch solutuions.
Make? Model? Price?
Do they last, once applied to the tube puncture, indefinitely or should they be replaced once you get home with a more permanent patch/new tube?
