.... but then again, it's not mine!
Mrs Snuffy has been wanting to give MTBing a proper go. So when a very decent deal on a lightly used Giant XTC Advanced frame came up, I couldn't pass it up. Wanted to keep this as a surprise, so to fly it under the financial radar I had to use one of my existing MTBs as a parts donor (my poor Dragon Team!).
Picked it up Friday after work, had it built by 11pm. Had a sleep then gears tuned by 9:30am the following morning and it was off to Lysterfield on the newly reopened tracks for a spin.
Small frame and a decent parts kt makes for a mid-10kg build (depending on rubber). Only part that needs changing is the FD because the Giant uses a bottom swing, while the Jamis had a top swing - so I had to use a spare Alivio FD I had kicking around. Also needs hydro lines trimmed which is one of those sucky jobs I don't really want to do. Oh... and err.. I ran out of headset spacers so I had to use some spare gold ones I had kicking around from my single speed...
Mrs Snuffy is a rather happy lass. Brownie points to the max!
